الملخص
تذكر المصادر التاريخية العديد من المعارك الحاسمة في التاريخ الإسلامي، غير أن معركة ملازكرد (463ه/ 1071م) لم تجد اهتماماً من الباحثين المحدثين كغيرها من المعارك الأخرى. وبخاصة أنها ذات أهمية كبيرة بالنسبة للخلافة العباسية عامة والسلاجقة خاصة، ولما ترتب عليها من آثار سلبية عادت على الدولة البيزنطية. وقد بلورت العلاقات الإسلامية البيزنطية، وغيرت مجرى أحداث التاريخ الإسلامي في منطقة الثغور الإسلامية بوابه أرمنية الكبرى واسيا الصغرى، وفسحت المجال أمام نشر الإسلام في المنطقة. وقد جاءت هذه الدراسة لتوضيح موقع المعركة ومسمياتها وأسباب حدوثها والاستعدادات التي سبقت المعركة من كلا الطرفين، ومجريات المعركة والنتائج التي ترتبت عليها.
Abstract
Historical resources mention a lot of battles in Islamic history. The battle of Mnazikert , however, received very little attention if any at all from modern historians. This battle was of great importance for the Abbasid Caliphs in general and for the Seljuk?s in particular. Mainly it had negative impact on the Byzantine Empire. The battle also helped shape Islamic- Byzantine relations and change the course of history in Islamic outposts, the gate to Greater Armenia and Asia Minor. It also helped spread Islam in the area. This study comes to explain the different reasons that lead to this battle and the preparedness on both warring parties- Muslims and Byzantines alike. The out come of this war will also be discussed.
