محمد مار مادوك بكثال (۱۸۷۵) وترجمته لمعاني القرآن

Abstract

يدرس هذا البحث واحدة من أهم الترجمات لمعاني القرآن الكريم لواحد من الرجال الذين أسهموا في خدمة الإسلام خلال هذه الترجمة إنه محمد مارمادوك بكثال، الإنجليزي الذي اعتنق الإسلام وجعل أهم هدف له ترجمة كتاب المسلمين الأول إلى الإنجليزية وهذه الترجمة من أوائل الترجمات الكاملة المتقنة لمعاني القرآن الكريم، وهي التي مهدت الطريق للآخرين كعبد الله يوسف علي وغيره لإخراج أفضل الترجمات لمعاني هذا الكتاب العظيم. جهد بكثال في ترجمة معاني القرآن، ويقف عند منهج المترجم في كتابه وبعض ما يسجل له في معاني القرآن، خاصة تلك الألفاظ والمعاني التي يصعب في العادة ترجمتها من لغة لأخرى نتيجة لطبيعة بين البحث بعض ما يمكن استدراكه على المترجم نتيجة لاختلاف الأساليب العربية عنها في الأخرى Abstract This research discusses one of the most important translations of the meanings of the holy Qur'an, by one of very important men who contribute to serve Islam through this translation, he is Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, the English who was converted to Islam and put the Qur'anic translation as the most important task This translation is among the first complete works to Qur'anic meaning, the one which opened the door to other translators such as Yusuf Ali and others to produce the best translations to Qur'an. This research points out Pickthall's efforts in his translation, particularly his manner, and some of what can be noted on his translation, particularly on those words and meanings which are difficult to be translated into other languages, according to the nature of these languages. Accordingly the research pointed out some of what can be noted on this translation.
