الملخص
تتناول هذه الدراسةُ التقابليّةُ إمكانات اللّغتين العربية والإنجليزية في التعبير عن الأمر، وتهدفُ إلى بيان أوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين اللغتين. وتحديداً تتفحّصُ الدراسةُ صيغَ الأمرِ في اللّغتين، ومن ثمّ تكشفُ عن الدّلالاتِ التي تنتجُ عن هذه الصيغِ. وخلُصت الدراسةُ إلى أنّ هناك تشابهاً واختلافاً بين اللّغتين في بعض صيغ الأمر وبعض الدلالات لتلك الصيغ، فمن أوجه التشابه بين اللغتين أنّ للغتين طرائقَ شتى للتعبير عن الأمر، وأنّ هناك تشابهاً في معاني الأمر الحقيقية والمجازية، وأنّ ظاهرة النّبر موجودة في اللغتين، وأمّا أوجه الاختلاف بين اللغتين فمنها أنّ الأمر في العربية فيه تحديد ودقة للمخاطب المفرد والمثنى والجمع، أما في اللغة الإنجليزية فلا يوجد تحديد: يُخاطَب المفرد والمثنى والجمع بنفس الصيغة.
وانتهت الدراسة - أيضاً - إلى أن للّغة العربيةِ تميُّزاً وإمكاناتٍ تنفردُ بها عن اللّغة الإنجليزية، منها أنّ فعل الأمر في العربية قد يُحذف وجوباً أو جوازاً، وأنّ الأمر في العربية يظهر ذاتية الفرد، أو المثنى أو الجمع، وأنّ ظاهرة النبر في أمر العربيّة تخضعُ لقواعد خاصة بمواقعه.
Abstract
This study contrasts the potentials of Arabic and English in expressing imperatives to underline similarities and differences between the two languages. In particular, the study examines the imperative mood in both languages in terms of syntactic processes and semantic modalities. The study uncovers some syntactic and semantic similarities and differences between the two languages, it is a similarity between the two languages that the two languages have different ways of expressing the imperative mood, there is a similarity in the meaning of the real and metaphorical imperative, the phenomenon of stress exists in both languages, as for differences between the two languages the imperative in Arabic is more defined and accurate of the singular and plural addressee, but the English language doesn’t define: the singular and plural addressed in the same way.
Underscoring however that, compared to English, Arabic has some unique distinctions and potentials. The imperative verb in the Arabic language might be deleted compulsory or non-compulsory, the imperative mood in Arabic shows the self of singular and plural, and that the phenomenon of stress in the Arabic imperative mood subjects to rules to its sites.
