Abstract

ملخص ‏ تحاول هذه الدراسة إلقاء الضوء على الجذور التاريخية لتشكل الهوية الأردنية، من خلال ‏قراءة تطور الأحداث الإقليمية والدولية، والتغير الديمقرافي السكاني، ومدى تأثير ذلك في تكوين ‏الوعي السياسي وظهور البعد الوطني لأبناء شرق الأردن، بعد أن أصبحت التجزئة القطرية واقعا ‏على حساب القومية العربية، وقد اعتمدت هذه الدراسة على المذكرات والصحف المعاصرة للأحداث، ‏بالإضافة للوثائق البريطانية في تلك الفترة، إلى جانب المراجع الحديثة التي تناولت التاريخ السياسي ‏لشرقي الأردن، وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن الحركة الوطنية الأردنية صاغت لذاتها هوية وطنية أردنية ‏رغم التحديات الداخلية والخارجية التي حالت دون تحديد مفهوم تلك الهوية الوطنية الأردنية بأبعادها ‏الديمقرافية والزمنية، رغم نشاط الوعي السياسي لأبناء شرقي الأردن.‏ الكلمات المفتاحية: الأردن، الوطنية، تشكيل الهوية، التغيرات الديمقرافية. ‏

The Historical Roots of Jordanian National Identity (1921-1946)‎

Abstract ‎ This study investigates the historical roots of the formation of Jordanian identity ‎through examining the development of regional, international and demographic changes ‎and their role in arousing political awareness and patriotism within the citizens of the ‎Eastern Bank of Jordan after regional division became a reality and de-centered Arabic ‎nationalism. This study investigates diaries, modern newspapers, the British documents in ‎that period along with some new resources which tackle the political history of the ‎Jordanian Eastern Bank. The study reports that the Jordanian patriotic movement ‎shaped its own national identity despite internal and foreign threats that tried to prevent ‎its formation along with its time and demographic dimensions despite the active political ‎awareness of the citizens of the Eastern Bank of Jordan.‎ Keywords: Jordan, Nationalism, Identity formation, demographic changes.‎
