الملخص
تكمن أهمية كتاب تاريخ بغداد للخطيب البغدادي لما حواه من مادة ثرية تتعلق بالجوانب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والإدارية، ليس لمدينة بغداد فحسب، بل للمشرق الإسلامي عموماً، مما يدلِّل على أهمية كتب التراجم التي تُعتبر شاهداً على تلك الجوانب. لذلك جاءت هذه الدراسة لتقصي ورصد الجنائز والمقابر ومظاهر الدفن، الذي يُعدُّ انعكاساً للحياة الدينية والاجتماعية للعامة، ولمن ترجم لهم الخطيب على حدٍ سواءٍ، خلال فترات مختلفة من تاريخ بغداد، وما تبع ذلك من مظاهر تعكس الدور الذي قام به العلماء والزهَّاد في حياة الناس، والذي بدا جلياً أثناء حياتهم وبعد مماتهم، متمثلة بتشييع جنائزهم وما كان يُردده المشيعون، والذي كان يُعبِّر عن مدلولات دينية وفكرية، هذا فضلاً عن قصد قبورهم بالزيارة والتبرك. كما كشفت الدراسة عن انتشار المقابر العامة والخاصة في بغداد، وشهرة بعض المقابر عن غيرها لأهمية من دُفن فيها.

Abstract
The importance of Khatib al-Baghdadi book 'history of Baghdad' because it contains a rich material related to economic, social and administrative aspects, not only for Baghdad city, but also for Islamic Orient generally, which demonstrates the importance of biographies, which is regarded as an attestation for those aspects. Because of that, this study is to investigate and monitor the funerals, cemeteries and manifestations burial, which is regarded as reflection of religious and social life for the public and those who Khatib wrote for them also. During different periods of Baghdad history and the consequent of manifestations which reflect the role that scientists and ascetics played in people's lives, and that was evident during their lives and after their death, represented by funeral funerals and what was said by mourners which was expressing on religious and intellectual implications, as well as visiting their graves for blessing. the study also revealed the proliferation of public and private cemeteries in Baghdad, and fame some cemeteries more than others for persons importance who buried there.
