Abstract The objective of this Study is to investigate the relationship between demographic and socioeconomic variables and fetal mortality in Jordan (defined as miscarriage, induced abortion, and stillbirth). The raw data for the study was taken from the Jordan Population and Family Health Survey 2002 (JPFHS), which was conducted by the Department of Statistics. The study employs descriptive and non-descriptive statistics such as comparative means nd chi-square test. The finding showed that nearly 38% of married women in a Jordan reported having fetal death at least once in their reproductive life. The majority of these pregnancy losses took place in health facility. The Findings also show that women level of education, age at marriage, current age, family size and ever-use of contraceptives have a significant relationship with fetal mortality. Husband level of education, kinship marriage pattern, women working status, premarital tests and religion were found to have no important relationship with fetal death in the family.
