Abstract: ملخص استهدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن العلاقة بين التسويف الأكاديمي، وأساليب التفكير السائدة لدى طلاب وطالبات جامعتي اليرموك والعلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (580) طالباً وطالبةً، منهم (188) طالبًا و(392) طالبةً في مرحلتي الماجستير والبكالوريوس في الجامعتين. استخدم الباحثون في الدراسة مقياس التسويف الأكاديمي الذي طوره الباحثون، ومقياس أساليب التفكير لـ (Harrisn and Bramson) الذي ترجمه إلى العربية حبيب (1995). أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن أساليب التفكير السائدة لدى أفراد عينة الدراسة كانت: التركيبي، والمثالي، والعملي، والتحليلي، والواقعي على التوالي. وأظهرت النتائج أيضا وجود ارتباط بين التسويف الأكاديمي وأساليب التفكير، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في العلاقة بين التسويف الأكاديمي وأساليب التفكير الخمسة تعزى إلى متغير الجامعة ولصالح جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية ، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في العلاقة بين التسويف الأكاديمي وأساليب التفكير تعزى إلى متغيري الجنس والمرحلة الدراسية. الكلمات المفتاحية: التسويف الأكاديمي، أساليب التفكير. Academic Procrastination & Thinking Styles among University Students in Jordan Abstract The study aims at investigating the relationship between academic procrastination and thinking styles among students at Yarmouk University and at Jordanian University of Science & Technology. The sample of the study consists of (188) males and (392) females with a total of (580) graduate and undergraduate students in both universities. To achieve the aim of the study, an academic procrastination scale was developed and used by the researchers in addition to a thinking styles scale (Harrison & Bramson) which was translated into Arabic by (Habib, 1995). The results of the study reveal that the common thinking styles among students are: synthetic, idealist, pragmatic, analyst and realist respectively. The results also reveal that there was a significant relationship between academic procrastination and the students’ thinking styles. There were statistically significant differences between academic procrastination and the five thinking styles due to the university variable in favor of Jordanian University of Science and Technology. There were no statistically significant differences between academic procrastination and the variables of Gender and study level. Keywords: Academic Procrastination, Thinking Styles.
