Authors: د.
Issue Date: 5-May-2009
Abstract The reader of theological books finds that comparison is often drawn between AlMutazillah and AlAsharah، whereas when readers look into Ibadhi theological books they will find that theological views representing various schools of Islamic thought are mentioned in abundance. Evidence will be cited by examining the Faith of Imam Abdullah bin Humaid AlSalmi through his interpretation of a long poem entitled ?Anwaar AlOqool fi Ilmi Osoul Iddin? AlSalmis approach was based on comparing three Islamic Schools of Thought: AlMutazillah, AlAsharah and Ibadhi. By doing so, he opened the door for an enlightened Theological Discourse that may exceed the usual. He steers clear from being dependent on other commentators, although there are instances of correspondence with the two other schools of thought. Such instances have their justification that is equally based on the traditional and the logical.
