ملخص
سلطت هذه الدراسة الضوء على حقيقة وجود الرحمة في اختلافات العلماء في المسائل الفقهية من خلال دراسة مقالة (اختلاف الأئمة رحمة) مبينة أقوال الفقهاء في مفهومها، وأدلتهم التي استندوا إليها للوصول إلى الراجح من أقوالهم، كما وبينت أثر مفهوم المقالة في علاج التعصب المذهبي الفقهي.
وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى ترجيح الرأي القائل بصحة مضمون هذه المقالة المستفادة من خبر (اختلاف أمتي رحمة) الذي ضعفه العلماء مبنى إلا أن معناه له وجه صحيح يعرف باستقراء وجوه الشرع وتصرفات السلف وكلامهم، وفق ضوابط أصل لها العلماء في علم الاختلاف، وأن الاختلاف الذي تتناول الحديث عنه هو اختلاف التنوع لا اختلاف التضاد مما يسهم في علاج التعصب بين أتباع المذاهب الفقهية ويساعد على التعايش السلمي.

Abstract
